Upcoming STAR testing

The STAR test is given each spring in grades two through eleven. The STAR Program looks at how well schools and students are performing. Students take tests in math, reading, writing, and science. Teachers and parents can use test results to improve student learning.

What Can Parents Do to Help Prepare Students for STAR Testing?

  • Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and is well rested so he can be alert and attentive.
  • Make sure your child eats a nutritious breakfast.
  • If your child wears glasses, be sure he remembers to bring and wear them during testing.
  • Make sure your child attends school during testing days and arrives on time. Please try to avoid scheduling outside appointments (doctor or dental) on test dates.
  • Encourage your child to do his best on the tests without creating anxiety for him and wish him good luck before leaving for school.
  • Tell your child that you think the test is important and that you expect him to do his best. If your child knows the testing is important to you and the school, it will become more important to him.
  • Ask your child each day about the testing that day.
  • Discuss test results with your child when you receive them.

STUDENT PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF

Students may be picked up and dropped off in front of the school at the bus circle or at the designated waiting tree in the park.

Bus circle - Parents may not leave their car in the bus circle.  There is also no waiting in this area.  Parents may drive through and pick up or drop off. Parents are allowed to park in either of the staff parking lots at any time.

Waiting tree - Parents may not park or leave their car in the red-curbed area of the drive.  Please do not leave your car for any reason unless it is in a legal parking spot.

Please do not purchase items from the street vendors around the school.  This contributes to crowd and traffic issues.  This is for the safety of your children.
